Her ministry underwent a transition in 2012 when she began a Clinical Pastoral Education residency at University of Colorado Hospital. Rev. Heller worked as a full-time night chaplain for eight and a half years at
St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, a level 1 trauma hospital. Rebecca also created and managed spiritual care services for the brand new UCHealth Hospital in Highlands Ranch, CO which opened in June 2019. Rev. Rebecca and her husband, Mike, celebrated their 17th anniversary in September. They have two daughters: Elena is in 10th grade and Ada is in 4th grade. They live in Lakewood with their dog and two cats. Last summer, Rebecca and Mike removed their entire front lawn, about 1000 sq. ft. of grass, and created a xeriscape garden, complete with a 42 foot long dry river bed.
