Transitional Pastor
rebecca.chapl@gmail.com

Rev. Rebecca Heller was ordained in 2001 in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) at her home congregation near Minneapolis, MN. She has served faithfully in both parish and hospital ministry for more than 25 years.

After earning her Master of Divinity from Vanderbilt University Divinity School, Rev. Heller pastored congregations in Cherry Log, GA; Kent, OH; and Loveland, CO. In 2012, she felt called to deepen her ministry of care and completed a Clinical Pastoral Education residency at the University of Colorado Hospital. For over eight years, she served as a full-time night chaplain at St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, a Level 1 trauma center, offering spiritual support to patients, families, and staff during moments of crisis. She later helped launch and manage the new spiritual care program for UCHealth Highlands Ranch Hospital when it opened in 2019.

Since returning to parish ministry, Rev. Heller has focused on building inclusive, compassionate, and resilient faith communities. She brings a calm, thoughtful presence and a passion for helping congregations connect their faith with the real challenges of modern life. Her leadership style emphasizes listening, collaboration, and spiritual growth, helping churches rediscover their sense of purpose and belonging in the wider community.

In 2024, Rev. Heller experienced a profound personal challenge following major back surgery that resulted in a spinal cord injury. After spending several months paraplegic, she continues to recover and now regularly uses a walker. This experience deeply tests—and ultimately strengthens—her faith, renewing her understanding of grace, perseverance, and the transformative power of community support. It has also deepened her conviction that the church must be a place where all people, especially those facing hardship, are seen, included, and uplifted.

Rev. Rebecca and her husband, Mike, celebrated their 19th wedding anniversary this year. They live in Lakewood with their two daughters— a high school senior, and a sixth grader—along with their dog and two cats. Rebecca finds joy in creating beauty and renewal, whether in ministry or in her garden and sees each as a way to notice life’s sacred rhythms.

Mia Montes Gonzalez

Communications Coordinator | office@parkviewucc.org

Mia holds a Behavioral Science degree from RRCC in Lakewood, CO. After college, she worked many years as an Admissions Coordinator in the healthcare and higher education industries. Though, she eventually found a passion for art and graphic design when she worked as a temporary front desk receptionist during the COVID-19 pandemic. During this time, Mia found ways to incorporate her love for calligraphy and digital art into daily work life and found that it was a healthy creative outlet.

As she leaned more into her artistic expression she began finding creative ways to market her company using social media. This earned her some positive feedback and a promotion to become Director of Marketing at a sister branch where she was able to explore her creative side a lot more. There, she was able to gain new skills in social media management, public speaking, marketing and real estate.

Mia is a California native and first generation American, but she has called Colorado her home since 2004. Some of Mia’s passions include journaling, painting, making candles and learning about digital art and film. She loves music and tries to attend as many concerts as possible each year. In 2025 she attended 42 shows! She loves taking care of her plant and fur babies, playing video games and making music with her friends.

Now, nearly three years later, Mia has called Parkview her second home since May 2023. She truly loves serving as Parkview’s Communications Coordinator. In this role, she has gained a deep appreciation for the many moving parts that help a church serve its local community and for all the care, coordination, and heart that go into preparing for each Sunday service. She looks forward to continuing to grow, serve, and support Parkview in the years ahead.
