Worship with us at Parkview Church

We worship on Sunday mornings at 9:30 am.

We celebrate communion on the first Sunday of each month.

Much of our worship includes familiar hymns and lectionary readings and scriptures. See our event calendar for seasonal announcements about the Sunday worship schedule. On some Sundays children and youth remain in worship. On other Sundays, children and youth are invited to leave to attend Sunday School during the worship hour.

All are invited to fellowship hall for coffee and occasional refreshments after worship services on Sunday mornings.

Child care is available each Sunday morning from 9:15 am - 10:45 pm.

Children and Youth at Parkview

We value the presence of children at Parkview and honor the life that they bring our community. We have intentionally created options for the children and youth and invite them to plug in where they feel most comfortable.

Below are some of the ways our children and youth can plug-in!

Children’s Corner (All Ages):

Every Sunday there will be a special space (front right corner of the sanctuary) designated for children and youth who wish to stay in worship. There are activity bags available for the children to use in the children's corner or at their seat.

Nursery Care (0-2 years old):

While babies are always welcome in worship, the Nursery provides an option for those parents who wish to be present in worship without their child. A nurturing environment is provided and available every Sunday.

Pre-School/Kinder Care (3-5 or 6 years old):

Parkview provides care for our pre-school and kindergarten age youth. The Lil' Peace Creator classroom offers child-care that is age appropriate and includes a weekly lesson, community time, and free play. The children will be released to the classroom from the sanctuary with the older youth.

Faith Formation Class (6 -12 year olds):

Children and youth ages 6-12 will be invited back to our education wing for our Peace Creators Faith Formation Class. Using Art, Story, and Community building we will explore the Christian story, engage in practices of prayer, and seek to understand one another and our own unique journeys. On the first Sunday of every month, the youth will return to the sanctuary to join communion alongside their family. Every other month, we will host all-ages service, inviting the youth to contribute to the worship.

Parkview Youth Group (6th grade – 12th Grade):Parkview youth Group meets at 11am unless otherwise noted. The schedule for this group is set on a monthly basis and therefore is flexible.

Parkview youth are a part of an emerging community called “Underground Youth” in which we meet monthly with other Youth Groups from the South East Metro area.

Our group is open and inclusive of all and we deepen our Faith by working in community, asking questions, and having fun and fellowship together.

Music at Parkview

Music at Parkview includes vocal choirs for children and adults, bell choir for adults, and instrumental groups of all shapes and sizes. Parkview has many opportunities for you to use your musical talent. Special music is provided each Sunday in our service by a number of individuals and small groups. Our choirs, under the direction of Jennifer Ferguson, bring exceptional depth and beauty to our worship experience.

Adult singers of all ages are welcome to join Sanctuary Choir.

Choir rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings at 7:15 pm.

Belles and Beaus is our adult bell choir. You do not need to read music and no Experience is necessary.

Belles and Beaus rehearse on Wednesdays at 6 pm.

Whether you are into classical or jazz, folk or bluegrass, there are many opportunities to share your solo or ensemble music during worship at Parkview Church.

Our worship includes various styles of music.

Programs and Activities for Adults

Wednesday Morning Maintenance Crew The Maintenance Crew is a group of men who meet every Wednesday morning to care for Parkview's building and grounds. They paint, fix-up, invent, adjust, build, tear down, mow, fertilize, plant, trim, shovel, change light bulbs; you name it and they've probably done it! No reservations or appointments needed - just show up around 8:00 a.m.

Landscaping Crew Parkview has been blessed with some very dedicated individuals who have cared for the flower beds on the west side of the church and in the east courtyard. The beauty they have facilitated has enabled us to have outdoor memorial services, weddings, and receptions. More volunteers are needed. Contact the church office.

Worship Set-up A new ministry has formed within the Worship and Prayer Core Ministry Team. This ministry is responsible for worship set-up. Those on the team decorate our worship space, but they also ensure that the candle holders are clean, the communion table cloths pressed, and the banners attended to. Some people have referred to these folks as Parkview's "church mice."

24/7 Prayer Circle This ministry is made up of individuals who feel a sense of call to prayer, and who are willing to receive prayer requests from members, friends and the pastor. All requests are passed around the circle of volunteers, but held in strict confidence. The 24/7 Prayer Circle members meet in the Chapel at 10 am on the second Friday of every month for self-care and nurture, enabling them to better minister to those asking for prayer. Contact Pastor Corbin.

Bible Studies & Discussion Groups Check the newsletter and "This Week at Parkview" under the events tab for information about Bible studies and Discussion Groups. These small groups are generally scheduled in weekday afternoons and/or evenings. All are welcome.

Literature and Languages

 - A Creative Writing Group called Creative Juices meets very informally twice a month. We share from our writing, give gentle critiques, discuss writing-related topics, and occasionally do exercises or listen to guest speakers. For the past few years, our group has hosted a Writers' Forum for area authors during Parkview's Fine Arts Festival. Everyone with an interest in writing is most welcome to join us.

Book Club
A long-time Parkview tradition, book titles are selected by group members, and the book is read prior to the monthly discussion. Members rotate as hosts in their homes. Watch for dates, book titles, and hosts in the monthly Thrust & Parry newsletter, in the Sunday bulletins, and on the "This Week" information page linked to the events tab.

Intermediate Spanish Join an informal group as we teach our way through Spanish with the hope of being conversational. We meet each week, practicing what some of us have learned from the Spanish conversational class at the Aurora Center for Active Adults, as well as trying new drills from a variety of different Spanish resources. Thursday mornings at 10 am - noon in the Community Room.

Fellowship Groups

Men's Breakfast Group at a decent hour is a fellowship group of men who meet the first & third Thursdays of the month at 9:00 a.m. Members are determined to solve the problems of the world, and need as much input as possible! The group is open to everyone!

Dinners For Six This fellowship group enjoys smaller, more intimate gatherings. The host is responsible for setting the date, providing the main course, and for making the plans for the evening. Hosts and dinner guests rotate each month. By the end of the season, you have shared an evening with several different members and friends of Parkview and experienced some wonderful cuisine. Groups meet once a month October - April.

Women Alive This is a monthly fellowship group for women only! Each person is invited to bring a salad to share during an evening of conversation, jokes, laughter, (and who knows what else !!!) except that no Parkview business is allowed. Women Alive meets at rotating homes the second Thursday of the month at noon. The hostess is announced in Sunday bulletins or can be found on the "This Week at Parkview" link under the events tab.

Men's Breakfast Group On the first Monday of each month, several men gather at 7:00 a.m. (yes, that early!) for breakfast and discussion of topics such as current events, sports, politics, and sometimes religion. Feel free to drop in.  Look for announcements of meetings in "This Week at Parkview" under the events tab.

Parkview Community Garden

The Parkview Community Garden is a place for conversation, helping one another, learning, and listening.

Our organic, local food is the wonderful byproduct of a space to share diverse experiences and points of view.

We donate excess produce to local food banks. With the help of Denver Urban Gardens and some enthusiastic Eagle Scout projects, we now have 34 plots, including 2 raised beds and 5 half plots, all gardened by Parkview Church members as well as neighbors from our surrounding community.

Each year we have a few spots available and we do keep a wait list, so it’s never too soon to let us know if you’re interested in a plot. If you want a garden plot or more information please contact the church office or email
